Job Placement
This employment service includes training and preparing the participants for the job search, helping participants gain employment that fits their needs, and assisting participants with Job Skills Training when necessary to keep a job.
Participants need the right tools at their disposal to obtain employment. A professional resume and cover letter are essential in the job search.
Thorough interview preparation is an essential step in the employment process. A well-prepared participant is able to demonstrate their skill set during the interview process and allows the employer to determine if a participant’s skills, experience, and demeanor meet the job’s requirements. We also teach our participants that they are interviewing the employer as well, to see if the opportunity meets their own needs.
Supported Employment
This model of employment is designed to provide participants, with the most significant needs, and the support they need to achieve competitive integrated employment. Supported Employment (SE) services begin with a Career Planning Assessment. This assessment involves observing the client in the home and in the community. Through the process, the evaluator collaborates with the client’s circle of support to establish support when competitive employment begins.
SE services combine individualized job development and placement services, ongoing support such as intensive job skills training, and the arrangement of extended services (funded, paid, and/or natural supports) to help customers sustain meaningful long-term employment.
Transitional Services
Our staff has a combined 30 years of experience working with high school students who are transitioning to life after public education. This journey looks different to every young adult, whether it includes attending college, full-time work, or part-time work. Every young adult’s needs are different and we meet those needs individually.
Benefits Planning
Entering the work force while collecting Social Security Benefits can be an overwhelming process. Our staff works with clients to understand how working will impact their Social Security benefits. The Social Security has put in place Work Incentives that should be explored in order to protect the client’s benefits, when appropriate.
